ITRO) (FRANKFURT: ITG) (BERLIN: ITG) reported today that its subsidiary,
Itronics Metallurgical, Inc., is off to a very strong start in the
second quarter with a surge in orders for its GOLD'n GRO fertilizer
and a spike in silver sales.
"Fertilizer
sales in the second quarter of 2008 were $1.115 million, 50 percent
over 2007. A sharp increase in orders in May 2009 could increase
fertilizer sales another 20 percent higher this year than in the
April - June period in 2008," said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics
President. "Silver sales were $81,000 in the second quarter
of 2008, up 56 percent compared to the same period in 2007. Partially
because of improved recovery technologies, we expect silver sales
in the second quarter of 2009 to double 2008's second quarter totals."
